Jean L. Zaun is primarily an oil painter whose work
encompasses all of the different genres: still life, landscape,
interiors, and the figure. The common thread running
throughout her work is her passion for color. The sensual
aspects of color and the impact it has on the emotions is a
constant source of fascination for Jean, and has kept her
totally engaged in the painting process for the most of her
life. Her intent is to create a beautiful painting that is not
too careful, that has a good energy and exquisite color
interaction.
Jean has a B.S. in Art Education from Kutztown University
(1979) and studied at the Vermont Studio Center (1990). Her
solo exhibits include: Gypsy Hill Gallery in Litiz, Pa. 11/03,
Lebanon Picture Frame and Fine Art 2001, Demuth Foundation
Museum in Lancaster, Pa. 1997, The State Museum of
Pennsylvania (5th Floor) in Harrisburg, Pa. 1996, Millersville
