Lebanon Valley Council on the Arts is the area's umbrella arts agency. We serve as an advocate for artists working in all the disciplines and a clearing house for information on all aspects of the arts. We promote theater, music and dance performances as well as an exhibition series based in the Lebanon Campus of Harrisburg Area Community College.

Tim Erdman

Tim Erdman is a graduate of Temple University, Valley Forge Military College and Lebanon High School, Lebanon, PA. Born and raised in Lebanon, he was taught trumpet by his father, Fred Erdman, a highly esteemed musician, band director and music teacher. After obtaining his degree in communications from Temple, Tim went on the play in the cornet section of the world-famous United States Marine Band, "The President's Own," and served under Presidents Nixon, Ford and Carter. He left the Marine Band in 1979 and played principal trumpet for the Harrisburg Symphony and a much sought-after trumpeter for various chamber ensembles, as well as the lead for visiting groups like The Four Tops and The Temptations. In 1988 Tim joined the music faculty of Lebanon Valley College as its trumpet professor a position he held until 2005.
 Tim is also the conductor of the Lebanon Community Concert Band and a member and soloist of the Air National Guard Band of the Mid-Atlantic stationed in Middletown, PA. He has played with Basic'ly Brass! Quintet, a highly active performing ensemble, since its formation in 1988. He runs Writers Block Inc., his own marketing and communications consultancy, is married to Anna Jean and is the father of four daughters and three grandchildren
