Burns Night, Saturday, January 24th
the life of Scotland's national poet with an
evening of Scottish food and drink, music and poetry. The event
starts at 6PM on Saturday, January 24th. Tickets are $45 per person and
include a full meal with Scottish Whiskey and Beer. Guests are invited
to dress in plaid or formal kilt or gown.
The Burns Supper has at its heart the haggis, brought in to the sound of
the bagpipes and served with mashed potatoes and turnip. Teasing speeches are
made by men about women and by women about men. Informative
speeches are made about the poet and his life and work. Whiskey toasts
are drunk to the memory of the Bard and the evening ends with the
singing of his most famous song about the pleasures of the acquaintances
we have enjoyed in our lives, ʺAuld Lang Syneʺ
Celtic Soup Session
March 14th, from 5-8 PM or later if the soup lasts and we don't run out
of songs and tunes. Warm soup, homemade Irish breads and dessert.
Suggested donation $10.
Sunday April 26,2015 from 3 pm. Second Annual LVCA Spring Tea.
Tea sandwiches, scones, luscious desserts. East Indies tea and coffee. Special one day showing of prints by Martin Barry, Robert Bateman and Wallace Nuttings. One of the Bateman prints is "Northern Reflection", the wedding gift Canada commissioned for Princess Diana's wedding.
