LVCA's
list of artists, dancers musicians, craftspeople living The
Lebanon Valley Council on the Arts was founded in 1970 and incorporated
in 1975. The Council received their first grant that year from the PA
Council on the Arts to support a series of Bicentennial
Celebrations of the Arts A series of grants from DCED enabled the Council to buy the former St. Joseph's Convent building on Willow Street and the building opened to the public for our First Annual Storytelling Festival in April 2007. Classes in various
arts related fields followed and the center has been open to the public
since then. In 2007 we received a grant to construct a computer arts
lab, which will begin operation later in 2008. Our concept of the Arts includes all the performing arts, including dance music and theater, as well as the visual arts, literary arts and language arts. We believe that the presence of the arts here in the Lebanon Area enriches our individual lives and enhances the quality of life for our entire community. Membership is open to the general public and to artists, artisans, craftspeople, businesses, government officials and organizations interested in promoting the arts and culture in Lebanon. |
