Contests and Exhibitions

Lebanon Valley Council on the Arts organizes a number of Competitive Exhibitions each year. This is a list of the recurring ones.

February - Smartfone 50/50 Shootout 
Open to all.
Entry fee is $5 per framed photo. The photograph with the most votes at the end of the evening gets half of the entry money

December - December is for Members
Open to all LVCA Members
Members are invited to submit recent work for review by the public. The picture with the most votes at the end of the evening gets half of the entry money

Smartfone 50/50 Shootout 

All photographs must have been taken with a Smartphone (I-Phone, Android Phone, Windows Phone etc) and have been printed from the file produced by the device. Any processing must have been done using an app installed in the phone. Entry form will specify the type of phone used to take the picture and will identify any proprietary app used to process the image and this information will accompany the picture in the exhibition.

Entrants may submit as many framed works as they wish, provided that each is accompanied by a $5 entry fee.

Pictures should be framed so that they can hang on our gallery hanging system. Best solution is a frame which is strung with picture wire or suitable string.  Sawtooth hangers are acceptable but a little more problematic.

All photographs will be for sale at a flat price of $30

Pictures once sold, can be removed at the end of the evening.  Orders may be taken for copies of pictures if an image is sold, such sales will be liable to commission. All checks or credit card transactions will be directly to Lebanon Valley Council on the Arts.  

Members will pay a 25% commission on all sales, non members will pay 35%. Artists will receive commission for any work sold withing three weeks of the conclusion of the exhibition.

Work should be dropped off at the Lebanon Valley Council on the Arts Gallery, 734 Willow Street Lebanon, between 10:00 AM & 1:00 PM Saturday, January 28th 2012.

Unsold work should be picked up at the Lebanon Valley Council on the Arts Gallery, 734 Willow Street Lebanon, between 10:00 AM & 1:00 PM Saturday, February 25th 2012.

Voting is by the general public on the night of February's First Friday Art Walk. All visitors will be given a ticket and invited to place it in an envelope attached to the Photograph. 

LVCA asks that all entrants send a copy of the picture they have submitted to lebanonartscouncil @ gmail.com. This will be displayed on line as part of the slideshow on the council's homepage, www.lebanonartscouncil.org

The Council reserves the right to refuse to exhibit any photograph which is judged to offend community standards. In the event of a photograph being refused the entry fee will be returned to the photographer.
